For the past 33 years SCA has held their retreats three times a year at Mt. Calvary Monastery in Santa Barbara. We were informed last year that the order planned to shut down the monastery in May 2021. We had hoped to have a few more retreats there before the monastery was closed for good.

Because of the coronavirus epidemic, the brothers at Mt. Calvary decided to cancel all future retreats because they could not guarantee the safety of attendees. They have also moved their closing date up to December 2020. That decision, plus the official advice to remain in quarantine for the foreseeable future, means that we do not have a venue where we can hold our retreats. We are in discussion about doing virtual workshops at some future date, but until the quarantine is over, there will be no SCA retreats.

Once this crisis has passed, we hope to find a new venue in Southern California where we can resume our retreats. Until then, we wish to thank Mt. Calvary for being so open and welcoming to our fellowship for so many years.
